The news channel Al-Akhbar Al-Ajila (Breaking News), on the WhatsApp app, reported that Iranian television had published instructions for citizens on how to act if the country were hit by a nuclear strike. The report comes from a single WhatsApp channel.
According to the channel, the instructions advise citizens not to look at the flash of the explosion. The channel also says they advise people to take cover immediately behind a barrier, then lie down on the ground with their heads covered.
According to the channel, the instructions address the phase after the explosion and call for people to enter the nearest building. They also call on people not to stay outside to film, and not to remain inside a vehicle.
According to the channel, after entering a building, people should stay away from windows and close the doors. They should also turn off external ventilation.
On personal hygiene, the instructions advise, according to the channel, removing outer clothing and placing it in a tightly sealed bag. They then advise washing with water and soap.
In conclusion, the instructions recommend, as the channel reported, using packaged water and food. They also recommend staying in a shelter for 24 hours and following official instructions.
It is not clear when or where these instructions were published on Iranian television, or on which specific channel. The reason for publishing them at this time is also not known. No direct source or link to the original publication was cited.
