Israeli artillery shelled an area between Mayfadoun and Zawtar al-Sharqiyeh in southern Lebanon on Thursday, according to the National News Agency. Naharnet carried that account.

The reports rest on a single outlet, Naharnet, and have not been independently verified. Naharnet cited the National News Agency for the Thursday shelling.

Overnight, Israeli forces carried out detonations in Deir Mimas, Naharnet reported.

Naharnet also reported that Israeli forces shelled Kfartebnit, Baraashit, Aita al-Jabal and Marjaoun overnight. Strikes also hit Kfartebnit, Wadi al Hujair and Baraashit, according to the same report. Kfartebnit and Baraashit appear in both the shelling and the strike accounts.

In all, the reports name eight places: Mayfadoun, Zawtar al-Sharqiyeh, Deir Mimas, Kfartebnit, Baraashit, Aita al-Jabal, Marjaoun and Wadi al Hujair.

Several details remain unclear. It is not known whether the shelling and strikes caused casualties or damage. It is not known whether the Israeli military has commented on or explained the shelling, detonations and strikes. It is also not known whether the strikes were carried out by aircraft, drones or other means.

Daily Lebanon will update this report as further information becomes available.
