Siddiq Ander, described as a senior commander in Sudan's Rapid Support Forces (RSF), says he has defected from the force led by Hemedti, according to Al Jazeera.
Al Jazeera says it obtained a video in which Ander makes the announcement. It describes the video as exclusive.
It is not yet known whether the RSF or Hemedti has responded, or whether the claim has been independently verified. When and where the video was recorded, and why Ander says he defected, are also not yet known.
